Sa7beh Bacho

Art Direction and Interface Design of the Sa7beh Bacho mobile game that is inspired by a Lebanese board game, called “sahbeh” (سحبة) that kids used to play in the 60’s-70’s era in the small shop of Mr. Bacho. The game was so adored by the kids of that neighbourhood and remains nostalgic to this day, that in 2020, one of those kids hired me to bring that game back to life on mobile.

Softwares used: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

To allow the user to relive the 60’s and 70’s Lebanese era in the game, the key colors of the game interface are faded shades of red and green (like the national flag), while a dispersion of brown and beige is used on the background to invoke feelings of warmth, hospitability and nostalgia.

To further illustrate that era, photography was used as the main visual style, to help the player fully immerse himself in Bacho’s shop and, therefore, engaged in the game.
